Meet Senior Master Christopher Callado and Sifu Sarah Winnen

Welcome to the Chinese Shao-Lin Center in Utah, where Senior Master Christopher Callado and Sifu Sarah Winnen, co-owners, and head instructors, are dedicated to revealing the profound art of Shao-Lin Kung-Fu to All. Both Senior Master Chris and Sifu Sarah, pictured on the left and right respectively, stand as the only two individuals in Utah certified to teach the authentic Shao-Lin Kung-Fu by The Shao-Lin Senior Elder Masters with a direct lineage to the Fukien Shao-Lin Temple.

Senior Master Christopher Callado - 7th Degree Black Belt

Senior Master Chris holds the prestigious rank of 7th Degree Black Belt. His journey began in Phoenix, Arizona in January of 2000, and since then, he has immersed himself in the intricacies of Shao-Lin Kung-Fu. His extensive training includes mastering over 108 authentic Shao-Lin forms, proficiency in 30 different Shao-Lin weapons, and in-depth studies of internal aspects such as Tai Chi Ch’uan, Pa Kua Chang, and Hsing-I Ch’uan.

A full-time Shao-Lin instructor, Senior Master Chris's martial training has been under the guidance of Certified Head Instructors and Certified 9th Degree Black Belt Senior Elder Masters David and Sharon Soard. Continually pushing the boundaries, Senior Master Chris is advancing toward an 8th Degree Black Belt, delving into new, more complex material, including the renowned Mi Zhong Ch’uan (Lost Track Fist), rare internal arts like 10,000 Lotuses Blooming and Lui Hsing Ch’uan (Meteor Fist), as well as mastering unique weapons such as the iron broom, Shao-Lin chisels and the two-handed straightsword.

Sifu Sarah Winnen - 2nd Degree Black Belt

Sifu Sarah is a dedicated practitioner with over a decade of experience. After demonstrating proficiency with the rare Shantung Black Tiger system, excelling in the internal art of Pa Kua Chang, and mastering such weaponry as the double broadswords, spear, and tiger hook swords, she has attained the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt. She is actively advancing towards achieving her 3rd Degree Black Belt. Her efforts extends to learning dynamic forms and delving into advanced material, including the complete internal martial art of Hsing-I Chuan, skilled straight sword styles, and advanced internal meditation and chi kung.

Global Explorers

Senior Master Chris and Sifu Sarah have not only honed their skills within the training halls of the Chinese Shao-Lin Center, but have also explored popular and remote locations throughout China. They've held exclusive audience with the Head Abbot of the Shao-Lin Temple in Honan Province, demonstrated classical Shao-Lin Kung-Fu at renowned sites, and visited historical landmarks such as the original Shao-Lin Temple, Hua Mountain Temple, the ancient capital of Xian, Hong Kong, the Forbidden City, Beijing, the Temple of Heaven, and various segments of the Great Wall of China.
